We are looking for a visionary Engineer who will become a CTO to lead our technical strategy and build scalable payment solutions that will redefine the industry.
Our project is an innovative fintech startup focused on creating a cutting-edge all-you-need Payment Service Provider (PSP) platform from the ground up.
Our founder and CEO has a proven track record of 10+ years working in the Fintech industry.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Define and execute the company’s technology strategy aligned with business goals.
- Architect all systems using modern programming languages like Java.
- Design and Lead end-to-end development of scalable microservices architecture optimized for high-load environments, ensuring high performance, low latency, and security.
- Lead the development of APIs/SDKs for seamless integration with banks, card networks (Visa/Mastercard), and third-party providers.
- Ensure compliance with PCI DSS standards and other regulatory frameworks like PSD2/Open Banking API/GDPR.
- Build high-performing engineering teams by hiring top talent and fostering growth through mentorship.
- Design scalable database architecture optimized for high-load environments with ML Analytical capabilities.
- Implement observability practices (monitoring/logging/tracing) to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical execution with product goals.
Drive innovation by adopting emerging technologies like blockchain or AI where applicable.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and scaling development teams.
- Excellent project management skills (Lean/Agile, engineering processes, release management).
- Ability to define and implement a scalable technical strategy aligned with business goals.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in backend development using the Java programming language.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS/Google Cloud/Azure; hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes/Terraform.
- Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and architectural best practices for scaling high-load systems.
- Experience in fintech, payment systems, or highly regulated industries (PCI DSS, PSD2, Open Banking API).
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven design, distributed systems, and Domain-Driven Design principles.
- Expertise in Data and Cyber security.
- Experience in implementing observability practices (monitoring, logging, tracing).
Proficiency in English (C1), both Written and Spoken.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Prior experience as CTO or Head of Engineering.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies or decentralized finance solutions.
- Strong expertise in Data and Cyber security.
Excellent communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
