Senior WordPress Developer (with PHP / JS)

We’re looking for a senior, highly experienced developer to join our team and take over the technical leadership of an already built MVP-stage multi-vendor marketplace.

This is not a typical e-commerce store - it’s a B2B marketplace for software and service vendors with custom architecture, multi-language capabilities, and complex vendor-focused logic.

If you have deep experience with custom WordPress builds and multi-vendor platforms, this is a rare and exciting opportunity.
 

About the Project:
 

We have an MVP-ready multi-vendor marketplace with extensive custom functionality, including:

• Multi-language support
• Vendor product & service listings
• Custom onboarding flows
• Complex vendor dashboards
• Advanced user/vendor logic
• No classic cart - service/product placement model
• Heavy custom development pushing WordPress to its limits
• Upcoming major task: Advanced vendor analytics (custom GA-based setup)
   

Your role will be to take over the technical leadership, understand the current architecture quickly, and continue the development roadmap.
 

Your Responsibilities:
 

• Take ownership of the project’s technical direction.
• Deep-dive into the existing architecture, custom codebase, and workflows.
• Maintain and extend complex WordPress functionality (PHP & JS are also used in some places).
• Implement upcoming features with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Lead the development of a custom vendor analytics system using Google Analytics + custom events.
• Work within an Agile environment (sprints, planning).
• Maintain CI/CD discipline to ensure clean, safe deployments.
• Collaborate with designers, QA, and PM to translate ideas into technical tasks.
• Refactor, optimize, and stabilize the platform as it grows.
   

Required Expertise:

• Strong PHP + WordPress experience (basic (ACF) & custom plugins, custom post types, WP architecture).
• Strong JavaScript (front-end logic, integrations, dashboards).
• Experience working with heavy marketplace platforms (must-have).
• Experience with multi-language websites and understanding the edge cases.
• Experience in building or implementing analytics setups — especially custom user flow and vendor analytics.
• Ability to analyze business logic and turn it into clean, scalable technical solutions.
• Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines (basic competence is enough).
• Ability to work in Agile, communicate clearly, and document processes.
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate large custom codebases.
• English B1+ (documentation and tasks are in English; the team communicates in Ukrainian).
   

Nice to Have:

• Experience with B2B SaaS or marketplaces.
• Experience with custom dashboards or reporting.
• Understanding of caching, performance optimization, and WordPress scaling.
• Experience with REST APIs and external integrations.
