Our customer is a fast-growing tech company building a modern marketplace platform in the luxury goods space. They are transforming a traditional industry with elegant digital products and premium user experiences.

The engineering team is building scalable, high-performance applications used globally. This is a long-term role within a stable product environment, offering strong ownership and modern technologies.

Location: Remote (Europe time zones)
Engagement: Full-time, long-term contract
Start Date: ideally in December

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the development and evolution of a large marketplace platform. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality, user-friendly interfaces.

The ideal candidate is product-oriented, strong in modern frontend development, and comfortable mentoring team members and driving architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver scalable, modern frontend applications using TypeScript, React (hooks, server components, client components, SSR), and Next.js (app directory).
• Collaborate with product and design teams to bring UX/UI concepts to life and make clear, user-focused decisions.
• Develop and maintain reusable UI components aligned with the company’s design system (including Storybook workflows).
• Work with Figma to review designs, make adjustments, and coordinate with designers.
• Ensure high code quality through best practices, code reviews, and performance optimisation.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of frontend engineering standards.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend services using libraries like React Query and ensure strong accessibility, testing, and performance.

• Communicate technical decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and provide recommendations for UX/UI improvements.

   

Required Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Frontend or Full-Stack Engineer.
• Strong experience building consumer-facing products or marketplace platforms.
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects end-to-end in a fast-moving environment.

• Solid background with React, Next.js, and modern frontend architecture.

   

Technical Skills

• Core: TypeScript, React, Next.js (including SSR, server components).
• State & Data: Zustand or similar, React Query or similar client data-fetching tools.
• Styling: TailwindCSS, Tailwind Variants; experience with animation libraries such as GSAP.
• Tooling: Turborepo (or other monorepo tools), Webpack, ESLint, Prettier, Git.
• UI Components: Storybook experience. Familiarity with Shadcn, Radix, React Aria Components

• Design Tools: Confident using Figma in dev mode and basic design mode.
