Senior Data Engineer

Location: Poland, Ukraine (preference for candidates based in Warsaw who can occasionally visit the office)
Duration: One-year contract with possible prolongation
 

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join an innovative AdTech project, working on large-scale, high-performance data systems. The role involves building and maintaining real-time and batch data pipelines that process billions of events per day, supporting critical business features like campaign analytics, fraud detection, and data exports.

IMPORTANT: Experience in or exposure to the AdTech domain 
 

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real-time streaming and batch data pipelines processing billions of records daily.
• Own services and infrastructure for request enrichment, data exports, campaign analytics, and fraud detection, ensuring high throughput and low latency.
• Design, implement, deploy, and monitor end-to-end data engineering solutions.
• Work with technologies such as Flink, Spark, Kafka, Protobuf, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Jenkins, GitHub, using Golang, Java/Scala, and Python.
• Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems for critical Big Data pipelines.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to optimize coding, testing, and debugging.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation, ensuring production reliability and uptime.
   

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in backend or data engineering roles.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Scala, plus experience with Go.
• Proven hands-on experience with streaming platforms (Flink, Spark, Kafka).
• Production experience working with Kubernetes and containerized services.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or OCI).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, autonomy, and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
