Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to lead the mobile QA stream within our sports analytics platform. The core priority will be ensuring the quality of our iOS/Android apps and API reliability, while also contributing to web QA efforts when resources and priorities allow.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on testing expertise with the ability to shape QA strategy and onboard/guide others when needed.

This is a long-term project with a clear roadmap and ongoing product evolution.

Responsibilities
 

• Lead and own the QA process for mobile applications (iOS & Android) - from test design and planning to release validation.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, covering functional, regression, and exploratory testing for mobile and API features.
• Conduct in-depth API testing (functional, regression, and performance) to ensure real-time data consistency between backend and mobile UI.
• Collaborate closely with product, development, and DevOps teams to build and refine a reliable CI/CD testing pipeline for mobile releases.
• Oversee cross-device and cross-platform testing, ensuring visual and functional consistency across multiple OS versions and screen sizes.
• Define and implement mobile QA best practices, templates, and test documentation standards.
• Validate the synchronization of live sports data, ensuring accurate event timing, stats, and feed updates in real-time.
• Report, track, and verify defects; drive quality improvements across the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and mentor mid/junior QAs within the mobile stream.
   

Requirements
 

• 5+ years of experience in manual QA, including deep mobile (iOS/Android) and API testing.
• Proven experience leading mobile QA efforts — owning the test strategy and acting as the go-to expert for mobile quality.
• Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, and similar tools for API testing and validation.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, request/response cycles, and data formats (JSON, XML).
• Proficiency in using mobile emulators, device farms, and developer tools for app debugging and log collection.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and tools like Jira, Confluence, TestRail (or equivalents).
• Solid understanding of different testing types: functional, regression, exploratory, usability, and integration.
• Analytical mindset, ownership attitude, and excellent communication skills in a cross-functional setup.
   

Nice-to-Have
 

• Experience with sports analytics, real-time data platforms, or live data synchronization.
• Basic knowledge of backend stack (e.g., Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch/Solr).
• Exposure to mobile automation frameworks (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest) — or readiness to introduce automation gradually.
• Passion for sports and technology, with a desire to enhance the fan experience through data-driven innovation.
• Prior experience in GameDev or Fintech projects will be a strong advantage.
