Robotics Engineer
About the Role
Stars Robotics is building advanced last-mile automation solutions on top of humanoid and service-robot platforms from global manufacturers (US, China, EU).
We are looking for a strong Robotics Software Engineer who can work directly with various robot SDKs, extend their capabilities, integrate new features, and help us deliver real-world, production-ready robotic applications.
This role requires someone who understands modern robotics stacks, can work hands-on with SDKs and APIs, and has practical experience developing behaviors, motion capabilities, and automation flows for humanoids or robotic manipulators.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, extend, and customize robotic capabilities using vendor SDKs/APIs (humanoids, service robots, mobile robots).
• Build “last-mile” logic, behaviors, and task flows tailored for hospitality, logistics, retail, and enterprise use cases.
• Integrate robots with cloud systems, automation platforms, and internal tools.
• Work with ROS2-based stacks to develop nodes, pipelines, and communication modules.
• Use MoveIt / Isaac / Gazebo (or similar tools) for motion planning, simulation, and validation of behaviors.
• Implement perception-driven actions (basic understanding of 3D vision, depth sensors, camera streams).
• Debug system issues and optimize performance across hardware/software boundaries.
• Collaborate with the product and integration teams to define new capabilities required by customers.
Required Skills
• 2+ years in robotics engineering or robotics software development.
• Practical experience working with robot SDKs (Unitree, UBTech, Pudu, Agility, Franka, UR, Kinova, etc.).
- Experience with Vision-Language Models (VLMs) such as CLIP, OpenVLA, RT-X, or Robotic foundation models.
- Ability to integrate perception + language models for task understanding or semantic decision-making
• Strong programming in Python and/or C++.
• Solid understanding of ROS2 concepts (nodes, topics, services, actions).
• Experience with MoveIt or other motion-planning tools.
• Familiarity with simulation tools: Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or similar.
• Understanding of robot kinematics, actuators, sensors, and control loops.
• Ability to learn new robotic systems quickly and work independently.
Nice to Have (Bonus)
• Experience with humanoid robotics (balance, locomotion, manipulation).
• Knowledge of SLAM, 3D vision, object detection, or perception pipelines.
• Experience integrating robots into real environments (restaurants, warehouses, factories, etc.).
• Knowledge of Docker, Linux, CI/CD, or DevOps for robotics.
• Experience with Behavior Trees or task-planning frameworks.
- Experience with Vision-Language Models (VLMs) such as CLIP, OpenVLA, RT-X, or Robotic foundation models.
Ability to integrate perception + language models for task understanding or semantic decision-making
Who You Are
• Fast learner who can pick up new SDKs and robotic systems quickly.
• Hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real-world robotic challenges.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving environment.
• Curious, proactive, and passionate about the future of humanoid robotics.
