Role Overview

We’re looking for a Content & Community Manager to build and grow the OpenMSP Slack Community - a space for MSPs and IT/security professionals to connect, learn, and collaborate.

You’ll be responsible for both community engagement and content creation, helping professionals discover open-source tools, share best practices, and stay inspired through relevant, high-quality content.
💡 We’re open to both full-time and part-time candidates for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow the OpenMSP Slack Community: onboard new members, facilitate conversations, and maintain a positive, engaging environment.
• Create and curate content: share open-source tools, IT/security insights, cost-saving strategies, and community stories.
• Maintain a consistent content rhythm: manage a clear posting calendar for Slack, LinkedIn, and other external channels.
• Organize and facilitate community activities: polls, AMAs, tutorials, knowledge-sharing sessions, and themed discussions.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams: turn community insights into impactful content and feedback loops.
• Support Flamingo’s online presence: help maintain brand voice across Slack, LinkedIn, Reddit, and other platforms, driving visibility back to the community.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• 1+ year of experience in content creation, communications, and community management.
• Strong writing and communication skills for professional and technical audiences.
• Experience managing social or community platforms (Slack, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc.).
• Understanding of IT, security, or SaaS communities.
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience organizing online or offline events.
• Basic design (Figma/Canva) and video editing skills.
• Ability to effectively use AI tools (e.g., for content generation, research, automation) to enhance creativity and productivity.
