SMG Capital is a venture investment platform.

SMG Builder is our venture studio that industrializes company creation. We’re scaling a model that can launch up to 100 startups per year through a shared stack (legal/finance/HR/data/BD) and tight portfolio governance.

The role

You’ll be a true co-founder and the operating partner across two tracks:

  • SMG Capital (fund/AMC): strategy, fundraising, deals, portfolio.
  • SMG Builder (studio): the “operating system” for launching 100 startups/year.

What you’ll do:

Strategy & Scale

  • Set and refine the VC + Builder strategy: theses, sectors, geography, risk, capital stack.
  • Build and scale the end-to-end creation engine (ideation → validation → MVP → pre-seed/seed), with playbooks and shared services.
  • Drive partnerships with corporates, universities, R&D centers, accelerators, banks/exchanges, and grant programs.

Fundraising & Deals

  • Lead LP fundraising (family offices, HNWI, corporates, DFIs): materials, roadshows, diligence.
  • Run sourcing, screening, unit economics, term sheets (SAFE/Notes/SPV), co-invests, and post-investment support.
  • Structure capital (funds/AMC, SPVs, credit lines, notes/securitization where relevant).

Operational Leadership

  • Own P&L for fund and studio; budgeting, reporting, risk/compliance (KYC/AML, policies).
  • Install OKRs and BI dashboards; ensure clean LP reporting and portfolio analytics.
  • Recruit and develop leads across Investment, Product, Growth, Legal/Compliance, and Finance.

Portfolio & Growth

  • Build founder/idea funnel at scale; convert studio projects to pre-seed/seed and beyond.
  • Stand up a repeatable BD engine and partner programs; keep founder NPS high.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7–12+ years in VC/PE/venture building/startup ops with closed rounds and real outcomes (exits or strong uprounds).
  • Proven LP/co-investor fundraising and cross-border deal execution.
  • Hands-on operating background: product launches, P&L ownership, process/culture building.
  • Fluency with term sheets (SAFE/Notes), cap tables, unit economics, portfolio analytics, risk/compliance.
  • A valuable network across CEE/Europe/UK/US—and a track record of turning it into capital and deals.
  • Owner–operator mindset: fast, systematic, transparent, and very hands-on.
