Database Administrator

About 

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our database systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across all environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other relevant databases)
• Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal and external policies
• Perform regular backups, recovery tests, and disaster recovery planning
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide root-cause analysis
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to support application deployments and performance tuning
• Develop and maintain database documentation and operational procedures
• Automate routine tasks and administrative processes using Bash or Python

Requirements

• 4+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL (additional experience with MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch is a plus)
• Proficiency in backup/recovery, replication, and high availability setups
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and scripting in Bash or Python
• Understanding of cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL)
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or pgAdmin
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Upper-intermediate English level or higher

Nice to Have

• Experience with database migration and scaling in distributed environments
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Knowledge of data warehousing or ETL pipelines
