React Native Lead Developer / Technical Co-Founder

Pitwhiz is the mobile solution that unlocks the power of data in motorsport.

Our mission is to democratize data in motorsport by giving every racer — from karting to sim to circuit — easy to use, mobile-first tools and AI insights that help them go faster, smarter.

We’re currently in Private Alpha and preparing for Public Beta in 2025. Backed by a clear roadmap and SEIS raise, we’re now building our founding team.

We’re looking for an experienced React Native developer to take ownership of our app from MVP to launch. You’ll be the technical lead, working closely with the founder and designer to bring Pitwhiz to life.

You’ll lead development, shape the architecture, integrate APIs/backends, and collaborate on product design. This is a ground-floor role with the option to join as a technical co-founder (equity + future salary) or as a contractor.

What You’ll Do

- Build the Pitwhiz app in React Native + Expo, connecting front-end to Firebase/Supabase.
- Work closely with our UI/UX Lead and Figma designs to create clean, responsive, performant UI.
- Design and implement the app architecture, backend integrations (Firebase or alternatives), and APIs and implement key features like session logging, car setup tracking, and driver profiles.
- Integrate analytics and basic AI/ML hooks in future versions.
- Collaborate with the founding team to turn product ideas into polished user experiences.
- Make key technical decisions as the founding engineer / technical owner leading the development of the pitwhiz mobile app in Flutter (iOS + Android).

About You

- 3+ years building React Native apps (TypeScript preferred).
- Startup mindset — self-starter, independent, collaborative, and happy to own decisions.
- Comfortable shipping MVPs fast and iterating.
- Backend knowledge (Firebase, Supabase, or similar).
- Solid understanding of app lifecycle, navigation, and local storage.
- Comfortable integrating APIs and third-party systems.
- Experience with Firebase, Supabase, or Expo; interest in AI/data apps.
- Startup mindset — self-starter, independent, collaborative, and happy to own decisions.
- Strong eye for UI/UX detail.
- Fluent in English, strong communicator in remote teams.
- Motorsport interest / knowledge is a strong plus.

Compensation
We’re flexible:

Co-founder track → Sweat equity + future salary.

Contract hire → Paid engagement.

Hybrid → A mix, depending on fit.
