Full Stack Technical Lead (Angular + .NET Core)

Full Stack Technical Lead (Angular + .NET Core)

Location: Full Remote
Timezone: US Eastern (preferred overlap)
Reports To: Senior Project Manager
Department: Engineering
Type: Full-Time Contractor
Industry: E-Commerce / Custom Apparel / Sportswear

Role Summary

We are looking for a product-minded full stack developer who thrives in a high-ownership environment. You’ll play a key role in driving the modernization of our tech stack, leading architecture decisions, mentoring teammates, and delivering critical systems across our .NET Core, Angular stack.

Although not a formal Product Owner, we want someone with product sense—an engineer who thinks about how and why we’re building something just as much as what we’re building. You’ll be working on systems that support automation, scale, and integrations—including AI-assisted tooling and low-code helpers that power our order and art pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Product Thinking

  • Design and evolve full-stack architecture that supports complex order workflows, integrated e-commerce, and marketing automations.
  • Take ownership of systems and help shape roadmaps with engineering and business leadership.
  • Think like a product owner: offer proactive suggestions to improve customer workflows and technical outcomes.
  • Stay open to leveraging automation, AI tools, or low-code helpers when appropriate to improve speed and scalability.

Engineering & Development

  • Hands-on development across:
    • Frontend: Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, SCSS, Bootstrap
    • Backend: .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, Entity Framework
    • WordPress: Custom plugin/theme work, API integrations, performance/security tuning
  • Implement caching (Redis/Memcached), JWT authentication, Microsoft Identity, and security best practices.

Testing, QA & Regression Strategy (Bonus)

  • Lead the adoption of automated tests: Jest, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Design regression detection strategy for framework upgrades — possibly using AI-powered visual testing (like Percy, Applitools, or similar).
  • Contribute to our culture of quality and continuous integration with a bias toward automation and tooling.

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Drive improvements in deployment pipelines (Azure DevOps).
  • Collaborate with cloud/infra team on containerization and scalability (Azure App Services).

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead by example. Perform code reviews, share knowledge, mentor others.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies with distributed team members.
  • Maintain focus on technical excellence, simplicity, and iteration.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years full-stack development experience
  • 3+ years in a tech lead role
  • Strong hands-on WordPress experience (not just site-builder experience)
  • Experience leading upgrades to .NET Core 8 and Angular 18
  • Track record of successful system redesigns or refactors
  • Agile and DevOps familiarity in remote/global environments

Bonus Skills

  • Familiar with Redis and microservices
  • Experience with e-commerce, shipping APIs, or tax engines
  • Strong visual regression testing skills (Percy, Applitools, etc.)
  • Comfortable experimenting with modern tools such as AI-assisted code generation (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor), ChatGPT for documentation/testing, or templated CMS generation

Traits We Want

  • Product-minded: You think like a user and a stakeholder, not just an engineer
  • Accountable: You own systems, outcomes, and issues end-to-end
  • Detail-oriented: You notice when something is missing or could break later
  • Communicative: You’re clear, concise, and direct—especially when remote
  • Improver: You refine process, tech, and product — and you’re not afraid to test or suggest AI to speed things up

Please do not apply if any of the following describe you:

  • Your spoken English isn’t strong enough for clear video calls and written collaboration.
  • You can’t work during U.S. Eastern hours (minimum 4–6 hours of overlap required).
  • You want to “just code” with no interest in taking responsibility for accuracy, improvement, or outcomes.
  • You’re unwilling to document, validate, or push for higher standards in code, process, or product quality.
  • You have no interest in owning the whole product — from tech to customer impact.
  • You’re not comfortable working closely with a true global team. (we include USA, India, Phillipines, and Jamaica team members)
