Junior Drug Discovery Project Manager

We are looking for a Drug Discovery Project Manager to strengthen the coordination and operational support of our projects. In this role, you will help ensure that project workflows run smoothly, documentation and compliance standards are maintained, and communication between scientific, commercial, and client-facing teams remains consistent. This position is well-suited for someone who combines strong organizational skills with an interest in drug discovery and AI-driven research.

 

Project Workflow Coordination: Oversee the coordination of drug discovery project workflows, ensuring adherence to established processes, regulatory frameworks, and internal guidelines.

 

Knowledge & Documentation Management: Work on refining internal documentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines; ensure clear communication and accessibility of operational resources across teams.

 

Operational Tracking & Reporting: Maintain and update operational tracking systems, including project monitoring tables and operational Jira boards; prepare regular progress reports for senior management and project leads.

 

Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a key liaison between Project Managers, Drug Discovery, and Commercial teams to ensure smooth coordination between scientific and business objectives.

 

Client Onboarding & Support: Monitor client onboarding progress from the preliminary research stage through proposal preparation and subsequent project phases; support communication with clients when needed

 

Documentation Oversight: Review and ensure consistency of project documentation, including proposals, work orders; oversee document version control and adherence to standards.

 

Strategic Alignment and Meeting Support: Participate in regular planning meetings and retrospectives to align operational processes with broader project and company goals; actively drive optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Support planning meetings by drafting agendas, preparing summaries, tracking action items; contribute to workflow corrections and process adjustments.

 

Process Optimization & Problem-solving: Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying workflow inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions, and developing proactive solutions for operational and regulatory challenges.

 

 

Requirements

Education & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences) or a related field; Master’s preferred
  • Basic familiarity with drug‑discovery workflows (medicinal chemistry, in vitro/in vivo assays) and AI‑driven modeling concepts

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 1+ years of experience supporting R&D projects
  • Hands‑on use of project‑management tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project or equivalent) 
  • Strong data‑tracking aptitude: comfortable updating databases/registries and extracting metrics for status reports

Project Management & Compliance

  • Working knowledge of SOPs and quality standards; able to ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements
  • Basic risk‑assessment skills, with the ability to identify, flag, and escalate scientific or operational issues proactively

Interpersonal & Organizational Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at coordinating across biology, chemistry, computational modeling, and AI teams
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with experience drafting agendas, meeting summaries, and tracking action items
  • Collaborative mindset; comfortable participating in retrospectives and driving continuous‑improvement initiatives
  • English language proficiency at level B2 or higher

Additional Attributes

  • Certification or coursework in project management and/or drug discovery
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new scientific tools and adapt to evolving workflows on fast‑paced environment
