Lead Data Engineer/ AI/ML Advisory

Mindy Support is a global provider of data collection, annotation, and curation services for leading technology companies. We are transforming from a workforce provider into a technology partner for AI/ML clients, delivering high-quality, ethically sourced data for training AI models.
 

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to become a key technical player in launching a new business unit. You will combine data engineering, client engagement, and innovation initiatives, helping GAFAM clients optimize data collection and processing pipelines for LLM training and other AI projects.
 

This position is more of a presale / technical advisory role than a traditional data engineering role — we are looking for someone who can analyze data, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose solutions to clients.
 

Location: Remote, preferably Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Poland, Romania). Short business trips to the USA (up to 5 days) may be required.
 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical meetings with clients, assisting with data pipelines, data governance, and data integration.
• Analyze existing processes at clients and within Mindy Support, suggesting improvements.
• Support data transfer and processing between clients and our platform.
• Contribute to new services and internal R&D initiatives, including automation, QA workflows, and synthetic data pipelines.
• Act as a bridge between clients and internal technical teams, ensuring clear understanding of business needs and technical constraints.
   

Requirements:

• 5+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior/lead role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Big Data frameworks (Spark, Beam, Flink, etc.).
• Experience with Data Warehouse solutions (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar).
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
• Experience with unstructured data (text, images, audio, video).
• English level Advanced / B2 for effective client communication.
• High soft skills, with experience in client engagement, presale, or advisory roles.
• Analytical mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving.
   

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in data annotation or AI/LLM projects.
• Previous work with Big Tech clients.
• Relevant Data Engineering or Cloud certifications.
• Experience in R&D or launching new services.
