Senior UI/UX Designer

On behalf of our Client, a well-established financial institution from the Caribbean region Mobilunity is looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer for a long-term engagement.

The aim is to make this organization from a traditional bank into a new era of fintech, working on the edge of what current fintech may offer.

As a UX/UI Designer, you will play a crucial role in transforming legacy banking applications into modern, user-friendly interfaces with specialized focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance systems. You will lead end-to-end product design to create distinctive digital solutions for compliance officers, investigators, and banking customers, ensuring that AML workflows are both functionally robust and intuitively designed. Working closely with compliance teams and development partners, you will design interfaces that make complex financial crime detection accessible and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

1. User Research and AML Domain Understanding:

• Conduct user research to discover information about compliance officers, AML investigators, and regulatory workflow requirements.
• Define user personas specific to AML roles: compliance analysts, case investigators, regulatory reporters, and bank customers.
• Map user journeys for complex AML processes including transaction monitoring, case investigation, and regulatory reporting workflows.

• Investigate and articulate compliance team needs for efficient financial crime detection and investigation.

   

2. AML Interface Design and User Experience:

• Design intuitive dashboards for real-time transaction monitoring and alert management systems.
• Create user-friendly interfaces for compliance officers to review suspicious activities, conduct investigations, and manage cases.
• Design data visualization components for AML metrics, trends analysis, and regulatory reporting that make complex data accessible.
• Develop wireframes and prototypes for sanctions screening workflows, customer due diligence processes, and audit trail interfaces.

• Create distinctive and consistent digital experiences across multiple platforms, devices, and channels for both compliance and customer-facing applications.

   

3. Design Development and Prototyping:

• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and interactive prototypes that enhance user interaction with complex compliance systems.
• Develop prototypes that validate AML workflow efficiency and compliance officer productivity.
• Design elegant interfaces that handle sensitive financial data while maintaining usability and regulatory compliance.

• Develop new product concepts, graphical scripts, detailed interaction designs, and screen flows for both legacy modernization and new AML features.

   

4. Visual Design and Brand Consistency:

• Create compelling visual designs that align with company and product brand standards while meeting regulatory interface requirements.
• Ensure AML interfaces maintain professional appearance suitable for regulatory environments and audit reviews.
• Design high-fidelity product screens that balance aesthetic appeal with functional complexity required for compliance work.

• Define visual style and positioning based on design principles appropriate for financial services and regulatory systems.

   

5. Testing and Validation:

• Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions.
• Test AML interface designs with compliance teams to ensure workflows support efficient investigation and reporting processes.
• Validate that complex compliance data is presented in accessible, actionable formats.

• Track user experience metrics and report on the success of user experience improvements, including compliance efficiency analysis.

   

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with compliance engineers and development partners to assess existing applications and identify UX/UI challenges.
• Work closely with compliance officers and risk teams to understand regulatory requirements and translate them into user-friendly designs.
• Actively collaborate as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.

• Partner with AML subject matter experts to ensure interfaces support proper regulatory procedures and audit requirements.

   

7. Design Leadership and Innovation:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies, including fintech and regulatory technology innovations.
• Research emerging trends in compliance interface design and financial crime prevention user experiences.
• Create the “WOW” factor in solutions while maintaining the professional standards required for regulatory environments.

• Foster design consistency across customer and compliance solutions through collaboration with other designers.

   

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role.
• Strong portfolio of design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications, preferably including complex data interfaces or enterprise applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in design software (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Suite, InVision, Axure, Balsamiq).
• Experience in creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows using UX design principles.
• Strong visual design skills capable of creating attractive, brand-aligned, high-fidelity product screens.
• Ability to plan, conduct, and synthesize user research and usability testing.
• Upper-intermediate level of English.
