Game Mathematician

We are Performa, an HR agency, and we're excited to find a top-notch professional for one of our clients. We're currently seeking an experienced Game Mathematician.

Aceroll.io is an independent game studio and technology provider focused on building high-quality online slot games and iGaming infrastructure. We combine deep mathematical expertise, modern development frameworks, and a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers, and legal experts to deliver scalable, certified gaming solutions tailored to global markets.

Our platform supports full flexibility in game configuration, regulation, and integration - from custom slot mechanics to certified RGS/API distribution for operators and aggregators.

About the project:
We’re building certified slot games with innovative mechanics and dynamic volatility. You’ll be working with a Python-based mathematical SDK used to design, simulate, balance, and optimize games across multiple jurisdictions and configurations.

Your responsibilities:
● Design and balance math models for slot games (RTP, volatility, feature frequency, symbol distributions).
● Analyze game performance through simulation data, logs, and visual outputs.
● Configure parameters and constraints for game behavior (payout curves, hit frequency, bonus entry logic).
● Test and validate the math behind all game modes: base game, bonuses, free spins, and modifiers.
● Use and expand our internal Python SDK to simulate and fine-tune game behavior.
● Work closely with game designers and developers to implement, test, and optimize mechanics.
● Create mathematical documentation and certification sheets for external labs (GLI, BMM, etc.).

Tech stack & tools:
● Python-based SDK tailored for slot math modeling and simulation.
● NumPy, pandas, matplotlib for analysis and visualization.
● AWS for simulation batches (EC2 / Lambda / Batch / S3).
● Version control via Git (GitHub).
● Optionally: Jupyter, Excel, or your favorite analysis tools.

What kind of background we’re looking for:
● Strong background in mathematics, statistics, or physics.
● Experience designing and balancing slot or casino games is highly preferred.
● Solid Python skills - especially with data analysis and numeric computation.
● Deep understanding of RTP, volatility, win distribution, paytable mechanics.
● Ability to work independently, run large batches of simulations, and interpret results.

Bonus: experience with certification processes and lab requirements.

We offer:
● Remote work or working from our offices in Lisbon, London, or Warsaw.
● 20 paid vacation days annually.
● Direct influence on the shape of every game we build.
● Close collaboration with developers and designers.
● A stable pipeline of creative, math-heavy projects.
● Opportunities to shape our internal math tools and workflows.
