Backend and Infrastructure SWE Offline

We're looking for a Senior Backend & Infrastructure Engineer to join our core team and take ownership of critical backend systems that power the Verba mobile app.

This is not a maintenance role. This is a high-leverage, high-autonomy, high-impact position in a demanding, dynamic, result-oriented environment. We're looking for someone who doesn't just write code, but thinks in systems, acts with ownership, and thrives on shipping impactful solutions.

🔧 Technology Stack

Our current backend setup includes:

• Python as the main programming language;
• Google Cloud as our infrastructure provider;
• Pulumi as an infrastructure-as-code tool;
• Docker for … well, you know it.

Experience with or a strong curiosity about AI pipelines (especially how inference services are built, scaled and monitored) is the key.

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing

• Strategic Problem Solving: Approach backend initiatives from concept to execution with speed, quality, and clarity. Write technical proposals and brainstorm solutions with other team members.
• Architecture & Ownership: Design and implement the architecture of the Verba backend services to support high-performance, scalable pipelines.
• Deployment & Monitoring: Keep our CI/CD pipelines up to date, optimize cloud costs and ensure observability so that we always know how our services behave in production.
• Coaching & Collaboration: Mentor team members, contribute to our internal tools and documentation, and help us shape our engineering culture.

• Proven experience designing and shipping production-grade backend services.
• Deep familiarity with Python, cloud platforms (GCP preferred), and DevOps toolchains.
