Lead Database Administrator

Requirements:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in administering and tuning Amazon RDS
  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL replication techniques, data warehouse design, and performance troubleshooting
  • Proven experience with high availability and disaster recovery techniques
  • Experience with database management in the microservice architecture
  • Proven experience with automation tools based on Ansible/Terraform/scripts to manage databases and migrations

 

Nice to have:
 

  • Past experience with other database technologies such as No SQL database systems is a plus
  • Experience with MongoDB and/or Kafka
  • Experience with the CI/CD solutions
  • Experience with ETL processes, data pipelines and data integration through APIs, Airflow etc
  • Experience or interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain and/or financial technology

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Work closely with the BI team and help maintain and develop more metrics insights
  • Continuously evaluate and improve monitoring practices, introducing enhancements that boost platform scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Develop and proactively review the monitoring of PostgreSQL database production
  • Participate in database design and data modeling and provide recommendations for improvement or optimizations
  • Provide query/index optimizations
  • Ensure database availability and performance
  • Mentor other engineers in developing efficient SQL queries
  • Prepare automation related to database deployment and migrations
  • Assist in developing data migrations
  • Optimize AWS RDS and help reduce cost
