Senior Backend Engineer Offline

At the moment, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer ($$4500-5500).

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Python backend development with strong async programming skills.
• Proficiency in FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Pydantic.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with gRPC and Protocol Buffers (beneficial).
• Hands-on experience with task queues (e.g., Celery, RabbitMQ) or similar background job systems.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), document databases (MongoDB), and key-value stores (Redis).
• Familiarity with Cassandra and ScyllaDB (beneficial).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in testing frameworks (pytest) and writing integration tests.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Strong version control skills with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS services (beneficial).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentorship abilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Define data models and database schemas with SQLAlchemy and manage migrations.
• Implement asynchronous tasks and background processing pipelines.
• Design, implement, and document RESTful and gRPC APIs for internal and external use.
• Collaborate with DevOps to build and maintain Docker/Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD processes.
• Write and review unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize resource usage.
• Enforce security best practices and data protection standards.
• Produce clear technical documentation, API specifications, and runbooks.
• Mentor junior backend engineers and promote best engineering practices.
