We’re on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Senior/Lead Backend Engineer to become a key player in our growing R&D team (250+ professionals, including developers, QA engineers, designers, DevOps, technical support, and product managers). We highly value proactive individuals who enjoy tackling complex technical challenges. Tech stack
Our core technologies include Ruby on Rails (7+), PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS, and Kubernetes. We have well-established CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, and Bitbucket. We work in small, cross-functional teams of 7–8 people, following a Kanban process and trunk-based development.
What we expect
- Solid hands-on experience with Ruby and Rails — at least 7 years in a commercial setting.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern development methodologies.
- Proven ability to make thoughtful technical decisions and approach problems strategically.
- Experience driving code quality improvements, enforcing coding standards, and promoting best practices across the team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across various functions.
Examples of challenges our engineers tackle
- Implementing sharding to improve database performance and scalability.
- Building cloud-based file storage with real-time sync and collaboration features (Dropbox-style).
- Integrating with billing platforms and third-party services.
- Optimizing infrastructure to support horizontal scaling.
- Profiling and improving application and database performance.
- Managing and deploying services using Kubernetes (K8s).
