Database Administrator (DBA)
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to meet the evolving needs of our organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage AWS cloud databases: daily support, performance improvements, backups, and replication.
- Handle migration of large data sets between databases from one premise to Cloud Solutions.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to support business operations.
- Monitoring database performance and optimizing query performance for efficiency.
- Implementing and maintaining database security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
- Conducting regular backups, replications, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborating with software developers and system administrators to troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Evaluating and recommending database technologies and tools to enhance system performance.
- Assisting in database capacity planning and scalability efforts to support business growth.
- Documenting database processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
- Providing technical support and guidance to users on database-related matters.
- Staying informed about industry trends and best practices in database management and fintech.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role in the financial services sector.
- Experience with AWS will be considered as an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in database management systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database backup, replication and recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in relevant database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
