Overview

We’re looking for a Robotics RF Engineer who will work on the communications and RF sensing technologies which bring reliable communications, and valuable RF insights to manned and unmanned systems. Your expertise with timing critical and resource constrained embedded systems development will help to create the RF technology framework spanning and enabling many different RF systems. You will collaborate with developers across ours full technology stack to successfully bring our RF technologies and insights to the air, the ground, and the sea. You will work closely with OEMs and end users from government, military and enterprise agencies around the world to develop and deliver tactical solutions for RF operation in modern, evolving operational environments.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, develop, and optimize SDR solutions for drone communication systems.
  • Integrate SDRs to sense and scan the RF environment of drones.
  • Develop packet radio systems with microcontrollers and microprocessors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define RF system requirements and ensure compatibility with overall drone system architecture.
  • Lead the selection and characterization of RF components, antennas, and other related hardware for drone radio systems.
  • Perform field testing and validation of RF systems, including range testing, interference analysis, and signal quality assessments.
  • Troubleshoot and debug RF-related issues during the development and deployment to the drone systems.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop and optimize software modules and protocols for IP-based radio communication.
  • Document design specifications, test procedures, and system configurations for RF components and IP-based radio links.
  • Stay updated on both latest advancements in SDR and IP-based radio technologies and regulations and standards related to RF communications

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in developing Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems.
  • Experience testing and qualifying systems that use RF technologies holistically in robotics applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IP-based radio communication protocols and networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in RF system design, including RF circuit design, antenna design, and performance optimization.
  • Solid skills in C/C++, Python, DSP and FPGA programming
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.
