Shopify Backend Developer Offline

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Shopify Backend Developer with 2+ years of experience in Node.js or PHP to develop, optimize, and maintain Shopify-based e-commerce solutions. The ideal candidate should have experience in custom Shopify app development, API integrations, and performance optimization.

Knowledge of shipping methods and checkout functionality is a significant plus. Additional expertise in other e-commerce platforms or backend technologies is highly valued. English proficiency (B2 level or higher) is required for effective collaboration in an international team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain custom Shopify apps and integrations using Node.js or PHP.
• Optimize checkout functionality, payment gateways, and custom workflows.
• Implement and enhance shipping methods and order fulfillment processes.
• Work with Shopify API (REST & GraphQL) to build scalable e-commerce solutions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Shopify Liquid templates and store performance.
• Integrate third-party services, ERP/CRM systems, and marketing tools.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and business teams to implement new features.
• Ensure best practices in security, performance, and code quality.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js or PHP.
• Strong understanding of Shopify API (REST & GraphQL) and Shopify ecosystem.
• Experience with checkout customization and shipping method integrations.
• Knowledge of database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL).
• Experience with webhooks, OAuth, and authentication mechanisms.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Shopify Plus and enterprise-level e-commerce solutions.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Firebase).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of headless commerce and Shopify Hydrogen.
• Experience with performance optimization and caching strategies.
• Exposure to other e-commerce platforms like Magento, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce.
