ML / CV Engineer

Samsung R&D Institute Ukraine is looking for a passionate and collaborative Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer to join our team.

As a member of our team, you will participate in research & development of solutions in the field of Computer Vision, using cutting edge machine learning approaches. The position will involve different aspects of R&D including – research, analysis, prototyping and development.  By joining the team you’ll be able to affect millions of users of the world’s most advanced Samsung devices and AI-technologies.

Key responsibilities:
 

• Design, implement, evaluate and improve ML/DL models, and software prototypes for Сomputer Vision and LLM-enabled products
• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in machine learning and computer vision 

 
Requirements:
 

• 3 years of commercial experience with Python
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch 
• Practical Experience with Machine Learning, including designing and training models, and integrating machine learning systems into production environments related to Text Recognition, Natural Language Processing (NLP) problems by machine/deep learning (ML/DL)
• Experience in development of NLP models, experience with transformer architectures
• Practical experience in ML models fine-tuning for required parameters: performance, accuracy, model size, etc.
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, statistics, or related field
• Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and adjust to the rapidly changing environment
• Good technical English

 
Desirable skills/expertise:
 

• PhD in the mentioned scientific areas
• Knowledge of NLP, Large Language Models (LLMs) extractive and generative, fine-tuning and LLM model development. Awareness of trends in LLMs and open-source platforms
• Experience in OCR, Speech Recognition
• Participation in ML/DL competitions, contribution to AI conferences
