At Volt Lines, we are tripling in size over the next 2 months to 10x the business over the next year. One of the key positions we are searching for is the Android Developer.

We are looking for an ambitious Android Developer, who will be working in a talented engineering team and which always goes for the best. This position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. The primary focus of the role will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. This role will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure.


Responsibilities of the role:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency



Requirements:

- Fluent in English
- Proven software development experience and Android skills development
- Proven working experience in Android app development
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Have published at least one original Android app
- Understanding of Android design layouts
- Kotlin experience
- Experience of third-party libraries like retrofit, picasso etc.
- Experience working with location APIs
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architecture, trends, and emerging technologies
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
- Ability to work in multi-functional teams

We view empty seats in traffic as both the cause of the problem and its solution. There are more than 50,000 buses in Istanbul operating at 9% efficiency and we want to solve this problem. Making shuttle buses smarter, more efficient and dynamic can create an alternative transportation network that can replace even car ownership.


Our vision spans over the next 10 years as follows:

- Short term vision (1-3 years): Convert as many corporates to Volt Lines as possible.

- Mid-term vision (4-7 years): Expand our offering to individuals (b2c) and launch an on-demand real-time service.

- Long term vision (8-10 years): start rolling out electric and driverless vehicles and save the planet!
