QA Architect/Coach (offline)

Your Team

The team, which consists of 10 software developers (2 frontend, 8 backend), a product owner, a manager and 2 manual QAs, is a highly-visible team that builds and supports an application that processes millions of customer transactions every single day and generates 80% of the company revenue. The team operates as a service team, which means that it is responsible for all the stages of the product lifecycle, from technical design to deployments to monitoring in production – and for ensuring that their product meets the quality criteria.

The team keeps growing, their product keeps growing, and, frankly, who they really need right now is someone who will help them design and adopt processes for maintaining the product quality without sacrificing the speed of the delivery.

If put more formally, your responsibilities will be to:

• Work closely with Product Owner to clarify and define requirements for the features;
• Define and monitor the quality metrics of the product;
• Work with the team to identify existing bottlenecks in the development process and find ways to eliminate or mitigate them;
• Make sure the team adopts QA best practices by coaching, teaching and leading by example;
• Create and implement Test Strategy based on the product scope, development and business needs;
• Create and maintain test documentation;
• Help the team to increase the delivery speed by introducing test automation according to the created Test Strategy;
• Be the driving force behind the automation initiative and a go-to person for any test automation-related questions;
• Potentially scale successful QA processes and practices to other teams and products and build a QA department.
