Senior Frontend Developer (offline)
NOTE: This is an ongoing contract with Upwork corporate.
Selected freelancers will be invited to several rounds of interviews, each requiring video, with different members of the team. It will allow us to evaluate the technical and cultural fit.
Upwork is looking for a senior frontend developer.
You will be working with the diverse team of 10-12 engineers, product managers and designers to build amazing features for our users. Our team owns the area of offers and contracts management, our main goal is to improve work engagement of clients and freelancers, to establish long-term work relationships.
Current technology stack is VueJS / NuxtJS (we still have few pages written in AngularJS, but we are going to migrate them fully until the end of Q2 2021) / Symfony 2. We use various monitoring/automation tools like ELK / Grafana / Jenkins etc.
Since backend is written in PHP, knowledge of PHP (Symfony/Laravel or other frameworks) is preferable.

About you
* You have proven experience working flexible hours in a remote environment.
* You can overlap with the rest of the engineering team (Eastern Europe, GMT+2) and US office (California, GMT-8).
Your duties:
* Maintaining existing functionality of upwork.com in our area of ownership
* Building new product features
* Identifying / introducing improvements in performance / user experience
The ideal candidate has:
* 5+ years of HTML: you know semantic html, html5
* 5+ years of JavaScript
* 2+ years of CSS: you know CSS3, animation with CSS only, responsive CSS / media queries, SASS/LESS, etc
* 2+ years using a front-end library (reactive libs like Vue or React, Angular -- JQuery does NOT count).
* 2+ years with PHP/Symfony/Laravel
* Webpack/NPM/Gulp/NodeJs
* Fluent English. The team you'll be working with uses Scrum process and video meetings
* Understanding web application security
* A desire to learn new technologies and build your professional skills library
