QA Mobile tester (remote) (offline)
Overview
Di.fm is looking for a Mobile Application QA Tester for a full-time position in the Product Development group.
We need someone with the ability to manage their own time to produce quality testing.
"We are a small to medium company, almost 40 worldwide. What’s special is that we are mostly a distributed company – all the developers work from remote locations. We have very good talent and people can learn from each other. We use the latest technologies in most cases. The things we build actually get used by millions of customers per month. We don’t have bureaucracy like in big companies. We are profitable, and we do not have investors, so we are very stable and have existed for over 10 years.
For developers who quickly show their work is at an acceptable level, the schedule can be more flexible so that workers can more or less select the hours to work that are better for them. As long as the work gets done, and done well, that’s really what we care about. We don’t track that people sit straight at their desk for any amount of hours, it’s all based on performance and quality".
The process of interviewing is that we interview over Skype first (Screening interview: ~30 mins, non technical, discuss experience (company manager). If it makes sense, we schedule upto two other times including a
technical Interview: ~30-60 mins, technical question/answer session (web developers, director of engineering) and Technical Lab Exercise: 60 mins, hands on coding exercise (director of engineering).
Responsibilities
• Perform usability, performance, and functional testing of web, iOS and Android applications.
• Find and document errors, bugs, defects, regressions and design issues in mobile applications and front-end products.
• Design, implement, execute and debug test cases and scripts.
• Validate and document completion of testing and development.
• Write test cases and test plans for various products and features.
• Automate test cases.
• Verify fixes.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will have the following:
• 3+ years’ experience in manual mobile testing with Android and iOS
• Bachelor’s in software engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency within our technology stack from a QA perspective
• Objective-C (iOS)
• Java (Android)
• Understanding of software project development concepts and quality control methodologies.
• Passion for music
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken English
Desired qualifications:
• Knowledge of automated software testing
• Familiarity with GUI applications and the client server environment.
• Advanced knowledge of our stack
• C#
• Audio decoding/processing
• Xamarin
• Git/Git hub for source control
• #/bin/bash
• Experience with Agile/Scrum Development processes
Personal Attributes
• Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote team environment
• Self-driven, organized and motivated to deliver kick-ass results
