Linux System Engineer

Location: Hybrid work from either Warsaw or Kraków, Poland
Working Timezone: GMT+1:00 Central European Time
Working Days in Office: 2 per week

About the Project:
For one of our esteemed clients in the banking sector, we are actively seeking an experienced Linux System Engineer. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility between the Warsaw and Kraków offices.

Equipment:
Only Windows

Additional Work:
Yes, extra pay during the weekends

Verification Process:
2 or 3 steps (screening, technical interview, interview with HR)

Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration:
Install and configure Red Hat software products and servers.

Solution Design:
Design and implement solutions using Git and Veritas Cluster & Volume manager.

Storage Management:
Manage SAN and NAS.

Configuration Management:
Maintain and adapt the configuration of server software and system components throughout the lifecycle.

Requirement Definition:
Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.

Automation:
Leverage Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and other automation skills (e.g., Puppet) for developing and maintaining automation scripts.

Infrastructure Monitoring:
Maintain and monitor the infrastructure using different tools.

Incident Resolution:
Resolve tickets through incidents, problems, and requests from clients or other infrastructure teams.

Collaboration:
Collaborate with support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot problems.

Training:
Provide training to colleagues on relevant subject matters.
Advise the project team in areas such as capacity management.

Planning:
Contingency planning, environment planning, configuration management, and other relevant tasks.

Documentation:
Maintain documents describing the system and its infrastructure.

On-call and Shift Work:
Participate in an on-call and shift work model.

Technical Requirements:
- Minimum Years of Professional Experience:
Specify the minimum years of professional experience in Linux administration.
- Commercial Experience:
Experience in the administration of Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, and Solaris in high availability environments.
- Expertise in:
SAN and NAS management.
- Technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, Git, Veritas Cluster & Volume manager, Python, and OpenSVC.
- Knowledge of:
DevOps methodologies.
- Some Cloud experience (a plus).
