Solution Architect

We are looking for an Solution Architect for our team (mostly) in Ukraine on a full-time basis.

You will join a super fast-growing social gaming company. We are building a global social entertainment platform initially focusing on the North American market. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing team in the early stages of incredible month-on-month growth with multiple opportunities to further your career and development as the business continues to grow.

You will report directly to the Head of Platform development and will be responsible for a number of activities, which require a combination of technical and project management skills.

An ideal candidate:

-is a hands-on (former) backend engineer, or someone who still has relatively sharp coding skills
-has solid experience participating in development of complex distributed systems and is well aware of typical problem set and pitfalls
-can understand business language and product owner needs and can formulate them in a form of ready-to-be implemented solutions or Jira stories for development teams
-can prototype new integrations (for example, implement a working prototype of integrating with Grafana SaaS suite)
-can produce high quality design documents for existing solutions (for example, produce a design document to be presented to Regulator Authority or generate OpenAPI schema for existing API)
-knows how an ideal process should look like and introduce new ones as needed
-can lead and ensure a smooth delivery of a cross-team efforts
-has excellent communication skills to be understood by technical and non-technical teammates

Additionally:

All the codebase is new and written by experienced engineers. We do not have a legacy.

We prefer to buy managed solutions or other services if we can, rather than invent in-da-house wheels/bicycles and support them forever

Our CTO is an experienced hands-on engineer, who is actively working on our codebase, so he is actively aware of all our needs and priorities

Technical Requirements:

-Solid Java, Spring, at least one of ORMs (like Hibernate)
-Kafka (strongly preferable) or PubSub
-Solid understanding of SQL, RDBMS and existing NoSQL options.
-Excellent understanding of Web principles, HTTP, REST (including security aspects)
-Experience with Docker and Kubernetes ecosystem
-Experience with one of cloud platforms is a must, preferably GCP
-Good knowledge of Design and Enterprise patterns
-English: Upper-intermediate
