Unity3D Developer (offline)

Now, we're looking for our next Unity Developer to play a major role in the development of a groundbreaking, unreleased application, particularly its end-user experience!

For this role, we're seeking someone who has a keen eye for and takes a ton of ownership and pride in gameplay and UX. This requires a full-stack, holistic thinker and strong communicator β€” not only do you need to be able to identify what "smooth" gameplay even means, but you also need to predict what leads to a given feature feeling smooth vs. choppy when you architect it, or debug why a feature that was already built may not be as smooth as it should be. You should never be the person to say, "Well, that wasn't my code."

You will be working with a product manager and UX designer (in addition to one other senior Unity developer), but on a small team, you might be the only one (or only one with the right background) to think to suggest something, like baking in ambient occlusion to make something look awesome. As a result, we're looking for someone who is extra communicative about their ideas, and who wants to leave their mark on the experience vs. simply churn out tickets. But there will be plenty of that too :)
If you geek out about 3D user experiences, reproducing real life physics in a virtual environment, and enjoy having the responsibility to go one level above and one level below your comfort zone, you're probably the kind of person we want to talk to!

Responsibilities:
β€” 2 years of Unity development experience across a range of projects, ideally including mobile and VR;
β€” Robust portfolio of shipped work supporting large numbers of users;
β€” Strong knowledge of C#;
β€” Good knowledge of graphics pipelines, linear algebra and trigonometry;
β€” Experience in gameplay, UI, tools and network programming;
β€” Writing reusable, high quality code and knowledge of common design patterns;
β€” Experience in writing performance effective code and application performance optimization;
β€” Comfort working with Git;
β€” Intermediate English or higher with ability to communicate with clients and other team members;
β€” Experience with other programming languages like Python, C/C++.

Will be a plus:
β€” Experience with iOS programming (Objective-C or Swift);
β€” Experience with shaders writing;
β€” Background or interest in game development, architecture/design and virtual/augmented reality.

Work Culture And Expectations:
β€” Great teamwork and interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, proactive attitude, and a drive for results. We expect people to meet each other morethan halfway in communication;
β€” Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. We don’t want to patch a problem, we want to solve the problem behind the problem β€” even if it has nothing to do with coding;
β€” Proven ability to work well with others in a fast paced, iterative development environment. You should be confident enough to advocate for your own opinion, but mature enough to know what you don’t know and respect the opinions of others;
β€” Attention to detail;
β€” Comfortable working across multiple time zones and cultures. You’ll be joining a pretty diverse group.

You’ll love this role if:
β€” You’re naturally curious about the physical workings of the world and often think about how to recreate them in a 3D application;
β€” You search Stack Overflow for help with a problem and realize that the only person who has run into the issue before was you 2 years ago;
β€” You like working on technology that sits at the nexus of solving difficult technical problems and creating a user experience that has never existed before;
β€” You like working with a diverse group of people across a wide variety of disciplines, who care deeply about their work, and want to help each other build things that matter.

We offer:
β€” Flexible hours, ability to work from home if necessary from time to time;
β€” Working directly with the customer;
β€” A cozy office in the city center;
β€” An excellent compensation package.
