Xbase Software Engineer (offline)

Requirements:
• Practical experience of working with xBase: (Clipper 16bit Dos, Xbase, Dbase, FoxPro);
• Have experience of coding in Xbase++ or have a programming background in order to be able to learn these languages and grasp AFI’s proprietary software (‘FCA’) - command line (.Net);
• Working knowledge of documenting code through comments and/or other documentation including User Manual Updates;
• Good knowledge of Windows applications;
• English level: Intermediate.

Nice to have:
• Experience of working in SLES (Suse Linux Enterprise Server), Novell OES, VMWare, Windows 7 Operating Systems, Groupwise 2012 Email Software and UNITRENDS Backup software (along with various other software packages and programs).
• Аttention to detail and organizational skills;
•Self-starter with the ability to identify needs and areas of impact, as well as potential solutions;
• Team player who is flexible in the face of changing priorities and needs;
• Strong prioritization skills and a track record of consistently going above and beyond with outside-the-box thinking.

Responsibilities:
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications;
•Integrate software components and third-party programs;
•Verify and deploy programs and systems;
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software;
• Gather and evaluate user feedback;
•Recommend and execute improvements;
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting

Currently, we are looking for an experienced Xbase Software Engineer to join our team! You will assist with planning requirements, as well as migration activities to upgrade/modernize existing systems to more current programming languages. The language is Xbase++. This language is compatible with Clipper/FoxPro.
