Finance Data Analyst\Business Intelligence Specialist (offline)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Level Up solves complex challenges at the intersection of finance and data analytics. Primarily serving the Office of the CFO, they help companies modernize their finance and accounting functions by leveraging state-of-the-art data analytics, business intelligence, and financial planning applications.

STACK: Excel, data warehouses (for example, Snowflake, BigQuery), data analytics, and business intelligence tools (for example, Tableau, Power BI, Power Pivot)

STAGE: mother company is in Series A funding, profitable, $65M+ raised;

TEAM: 20 people in total, most are financial & data analytics professionals;

REQUIREMENTS:

Must-haves:
Prior experience developing complex financial models and analyses in Excel (Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills);
Can handle large data sets in a data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.);
Utilizing data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Power Pivot, etc.);
The ability to create 3-statement financial models and other financial analyses while also being able to transform complex data sets into drivers and assumptions for those models;
Ability to dive deep into data with a bottoms-up approach, while also having an awareness of the bigger picture and the ability to produce a top-down approach simultaneously;
Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators while also being able to translate and distill data into actionable information to drive results;
Background in corporate FP&A, corporate development, corporate business intelligence, investment banking, consulting, equity research, private equity, and venture capital.

Nice-to-haves:
Ideally, a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, economics, or a technical field, such as engineering, math, or computer science. MBA, CFA, or CPA designations are a plus;
Experience in working with planning applications (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, Vena, etc.);
Knowledge of programming languages (especially Python and SQL);

Soft skills:
Comfortable with planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making;
Ability to work independently, think objectively, and interpret meaningful and insightful narratives from both quantitative as well as qualitative data;
Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners, both internal and external;
Being able to work with a US-based team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as a team member on various consulting engagements with CFOs that typically involve reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning in complex data environments;
Construct detailed, assumptions-driven 3-statement financial operating and strategic models, utilizing automation techniques to maintain scalability and repeatability;
Assist with planning and implementation of data engineering projects, leveraging data warehouses, data ETL tools, and scripting languages to construct complete data pipelines for KPI reporting and dashboards that are the key drivers of forecasting models;
Participate and present in weekly update meetings with clients to demonstrate progress towards the pre-defined goals of the engagement.
