PHP Solutions Architect (offline) $4000-8000

We’re looking for a seasoned solutions architect with extensive PHP experience, understanding of systems architecture, experience and willingness to develop solutions from scratch and taking overall technical responsibility of the system being developed.

This role can be combined with Full-Stack skills with PHP on backend and JS on frontend. The role will be defined based on your experience and skills.

We specialize in bandwidth-frugal solutions, including lightweight Android apps, extensive offline/online capability, and synchronization that prioritizes making the best use of available bandwidth.
We are currently starting a new social impact project and looking for a Solutions Architect to join our team.
This role is 100% remote.

This role is about
You’ll be building everyday solutions that solve challenges our customers face in their daily lives, e.g. in schooling, infrastructure, money transfer among others in vulnerable countries around the world.

You’ll focus on building architecture on an Management Information System that can function as the basis of our software project for the long-term. For this role we’re looking for someone with architectural and logical thinking to see how software can solve daily challenges. You understand why you’re choosing to build something, not just how.
We’re looking for someone who has a fundamental understanding of how to build systems, really thinking about each technical decision and reasoning behind it.

The team
Our development team is based in the U.K. and across Africa. For this project, there’ll be a team of initially 3 people and long-term possibly more depending on how you choose to build the system.


TECH STACK
PHP (Laravel or willingness to learn), JavaScript (any framework)

- PHP, Laravel
- Javascript + any frameworks
- Experience with database architectures
- Overall understanding of building solutions from scratch
- Architectural thinking, logical thinking, and the ability to see what sort of system needs to be built

- Understanding Android is not required but will be a plus
