DevOps Engineer (offline)

As a DevOps (Site Reliability Engineer), you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our client’s hybrid infrastructure. This spans hundreds of database instances, Kubernetes production clusters, and more.

Requirements
At least 4+ years of experience as a DevOps / SRE
Strong Linux skills and Linux OS fundamentals
Experience in automation, CI, and CD (Jenkins and Ansible)
Experience with cloud infrastructure management tools: CloudFormation, Terraform
Knowledge of working with Cassandra/MySQL/Postgres
Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers
Familiarity with Python/Bash/Golang or other scripting languages
Deep understanding of the Kubernetes architecture
Strong monitoring experience (Grafana/Prometheus/CheckMK)
Solid troubleshooting skills and networking knowledge
Extensive knowledge of AWS is a plus
RHCE, RHCA, and Kubernetes certifications are beneficial, but not required
Must be detail-oriented, self-driven, and have excellent communication skills
Good oral and written English

Responsibilities:
We are looking for an individual who is inspired to work on large enterprise projects with the founding team. PYGIO clients are mainly in the financial services and industrial technology industries – we build software and data analytics products and services that transform enterprises in South Africa. We work with the largest banks, insurers, and manufacturing companies in Africa, as well as a diverse range of other enterprises.

The role will include many responsibilities (building for clients, helping to build PYGIO products, and commercial engagements). Some of this wide range of responsibilities include hiring teams around the individual and may require sporadic international travel.

The developer will be client-facing and must have fluent English. Must be enterprising and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
