Senior Technical Writer/Documentation Engineer Offline

Responsibilities

Collaborate with several different teams across the project to plan, outline, create, and review software documentation and hardware installation guides.

 

Requirements

- Experience working with a docs as code workflow (specifically, with Docusaurus 1 and Docusaurus 2-based documentation portals; experience with Gatsby would be a plus).

- Experience planning, researching, writing, and editing software documentation and hardware installation guides.

- Excellent skills in grammar, minimalist documentation design, and effective information architecture.

- Solid grasp on the Microsoft Style Guide and ability to create and maintain internal style guides.

- Experience using the Linux shell, command-line Git, and running Docker containers.

- General familiarity with one or more coding languages and web frameworks (a bit of hands-on experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and React would be a plus).

- Experience with Snagit and Camtasia (specifically, ability to make gifs and videos instead of screenshots).

- Experience with a rapidly scaling start-up environment and remote work, especially in collaboration with others across countries and time zones.

- Experience with workflows and tooling used by engineering, operations, and product teams.

 

Required Skills:

- 2 years’ experience as a technical writer

- Advanced English level

- Demonstrated ability to write documentation for a developer audience

- Excellent writing skills and ability to conform to a style guide

- Experience working in an Agile team

- Ability to gather information through a variety of methods, including interviews, hands-on work with the product, and collaboration tools

 

Preferred skills:

- Ability to write sample code for use in documentation

Higher Education: Bachelor’s or Master's Degree
