System Administrator (offline) to $1800

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Understand the needs and challenges of a client across operations and development, and partner to formulate solutions that support their business and technical strategies and goals
- Recommend and implement solutions. Be hands-on and can work independently;
- Develop solutions encompassing technology, process, and people
- Ensure delivery of exceptional technical solutions;
- Maintain strong expertise and knowledge of current and emerging processes, techniques, and tools;
- Build the DevOps practice within GitLab and drive our thought-leadership externally;
- Identifies and resolves problems on time
- Design, build and maintain the CI/CD infrastructure and tools to deliver new features & fixes
- Work closely with development teams to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance, and operability in mind.

Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position
- Team leadership & supervision experience
- Strong English verbal skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills

Professional requirements:
- Strong knowledge of *nix operational systems & bash scripting
- Proficiency in software engineering tools:
- Knowledge of automation tools/services: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible
- Knowledge of monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics;
- Knowledge of containerization & orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes, HELM, ArgoCD;
- Knowledge of cloud hosting providers: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Digital Ocean
- Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (Redis, MongoDB, …)
- Knowledge of secrets management: HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager
- Customization of Nginx and Apache server
- Ability to document requirements and specifications
