The client is rethinking how digital fabrication of customized products can be done on-demand. Just imagine what will happen when they add 3D printing capabilities to this global service. They are already empowering thousands of e-commerce entrepreneurs to grow and scale their businesses.

Engineering

Owning no physical production assets, nor servers, instead our asset is a cloud-based connectivity platform that enables world-class on-demand production for e-commerce platforms and applications. This engineered platform needs to provide our customers access to more than 100 production partners in 32 countries and includes production plate design, routing to an appropriate partner, and finally linking to logistics systems for delivery to the consumer. All this in 72 hours and reaching more than 5 billion people and potential consumers in a smarter, faster, and greener way.

Have a multicultural Engineering team of over 80 people working in 5 countries who build, grow and maintain our applications and platform. Our engineering landscape provides the technology to extend our capabilities and features across 3 customer-facing applications: Optimalprint, Globe, and client's API plus the digital connectivity platform. The employed technologies range from backends using PHP and GoLang to mobile apps built natively or with hybrid technology, running on cloud services and with a modern CI/CD pipeline.

They are flexible on location and building their teams in Estonia, Sweden, UK, India, and Spain.

What you will be doing:

Oversee the high-level architecture of the platform, its main components, interfaces

Ensure continuous governance of third party integrations

Design, document, and maintain solid architectural guidance for engineering

Assuring that our solutions are sustainable, scalable and are built in accordance with best practices, and soundly architecturally designed.

Cultivating strong relationships with Product, Engineering, Security, Data, and business stakeholders

Researching, consulting, and innovating the tools, frameworks, and software for providing web-scale cloud services

Assisting stakeholders in understanding technical implications and consequences of strategic choices

Who you are
Holding a Masters's degree in Computer Science or 5+ years in a similar position

You can relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs and thrive when working in the intersection between business and engineering development

Strong technical background and an expert in many tech areas (web development, infrastructure, security)

You have experience working with solution architecture in a complex enterprise environment supporting multiple teams

You have experience in leading a team

A pragmatic balance between building and buying solutions with a focus on the end result

Passionate about engineering practices like agile, continuous delivery, test-driven development, traceability, and observability

Experience designing and building highly scalable cloud-native applications

Familiarity with common cloud services (AWS, GCP, etc.), microservice architectures (Kubernetes, event streaming, etc.), products (e.g. AWS Gateway, Postgres, BigQuery)

You are not just a PowerPoint architect, but you work hands-on with development
