Senior Cloud Engineer (offline)

Project description

Our Client is the global Tier-1 IoT Carrier specialized in providing managed connectivity services for low bandwidth IoT applications such as Asset Tracking, Tank Monitoring, Vehicle Telematics, Smart Metering, and Waste Management. Being a SIM card dealer for the IoT market, their services help businesses worldwide connect their devices effectively.

We collaborate to deploy infrastructure and create software solutions. The main purpose of the project is to replace 3rd party SDM with our own solution. Together with our team, you will develop a DevOps culture for this solution from scratch.

What you bring along
Experience with AWS cloud (certified);
Strong knowledge of IaaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK;
Good understanding of IoT and networking;
Strong knowledge of Node.js/TypeScript;
Solid skills of OS concepts: process management, service management, threads and concurrency, sockets, POSIX basics, networking, I/O management, virtualization, file systems;
Knowledge of web: protocols, load balancing, firewalls, caching, proxies, web servers, service mesh;
Familiar with IaaC: containers, configuration management, container orchestration, infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD tools;
Proficiency in software and infrastructure monitoring: Elastic Stack, Jaeger, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.;
Strong knowledge of PaaC, using Gitlab CI, Jenkins, etc;
Possess good knowledge of microservices platforms: Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker Swarm;
Expert in solution architecture: requirements elicitation, architectural tactics and patterns, modeling languages, methods/framework for architecture design and evaluation;
English – Upper-Intermediate or higher.

This is your mission
Participate in all phases of SDLC and Architecture design sessions;
Review existing implementations suggesting changes and optimizations;
Work on automation tasks;
Be a technical evangelist;
Lead DevOps initiatives;
Deliver technology consulting projects (e.g. transformation strategies and implementation roadmaps, solution architecture design, technology and architecture assessments);
Participate in the early stages of the customer engagement – supporting sales, account management, presales, and engagement teams in opportunity qualification, needs assessment, solution design, proposal preparation;
Contribute to the establishment of Solution Architecture governance processes for our key solution engineering projects;
Elevate company’s image in the *Ops and Infrastructure related fields, participating in conferences/webinars, contributing to articles/whitepapers, owning thought leadership for the aforementioned fields;
Contribute to the development of the company’s solution architecture design and technology consulting capabilities.
