Senior\Lead Ruby Engineer (offline)

A strong team of experts who work as a partner and advisor for our US-based client, a global real estate company that provides shared workspaces for technology startup subculture communities, and services for entrepreneurs, freelancers, startups, small businesses, and large enterprises. The client is creating a layer of technology to power their vision of 'space as a service. Our team is based in 4 locations Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk and we closely collaborate with the developers on the client side.

We are working in an Agile environment following the Scrum framework and constantly strive to be better.

YOU ARE
Having 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering building highly scalable solutions
Proficient in writing scalable, highly performant, instrumented, and clean code
Showing expertise in developing backend on Ruby on Rails. Knowledge of React or equivalent framework would be a big win
Confident in testing, instrumentation application, and experience with distributed systems
Accustomed to Agile development environment
Possessing hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development and writing unit and integration tests
Capable of delivering high-quality code that impacts the bottom line of the business
Successful in driving technical solutions to strategic initiatives
Skilled in designing scalable frontend architecture
Able to design stable and performant APIs
Helping steer technical decisions about infrastructure and architecture
Showing model engineering excellence and collaborative processes
The one who prefers to communicate with colleagues around the world

Estimation and scope decomposition
Influencing customer decision-making and participation in product development. Every voice is important and counted, they will hear you
Feature development with 1-2 more collaborators
Identifying and driving code improvements, including technical debt
Authoring feature-specific design docs
Risk assessment, defining dependencies and assumptions
Providing technical solutions and writing project documentation
Participation in discovery phases and workshops by covering all technical aspects of the deal
Prototypes and proof-of-concept creation with their further delivery and presentation to the stakeholders
Serving as an example of quality code and design and pushing for better processes around how the team operates
Mentoring others and proactively identifying opportunities to improve intra- and/or inter-team capability such as interviewing and active participation in guilds
Advocating for a solid technical approach and influencing peers
