Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer (offline)

The Infrastructure Automation team at Slice manages, scales, and extends the constellation of services responsible for extracting and classifying purchase data, and serving our consumer and partner applications with high availability and extremely low latency. As a senior member of the team, you will get an opportunity to automate the transition of a complex distributed system, seeing as it evolves together with cutting-edge computing orchestration technologies, such as AWS and Kubernetes.

*Responsibilities:*

β€” Build and extend our automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, auto-scaling, code deployment, and failover
β€” Augment and organize our infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and reporting
β€” Use modern automation tools: AWS EKS, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Docker, Artifactory, Gitlab, Grafana
β€” Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
β€” Educate fellow engineers on DevOps technologies and best practices
β€” Work closely with other engineers to define elegant software solutions, with a particular eye for performance and scalability

*Requirements:*

*Must have:*

β€” A solid foundation in computer science and a general understanding of architectural practices and design of highly scalable systems
β€” Expert knowledge managing Linux servers and designing network topologies

β€” Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based infrastructure
β€” Experience with Kubernetes
β€” Experience with Terraform
β€” Experience with high traffic web applications with a particular focus on performance and scale
β€” Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*Nice to have:*

β€” Experience with Jenkins
β€” Experience with Airflow
β€” Experience with Kafka
β€” Experience with Vault
β€” Experience with Istio or other service mesh
