Technical System Administrator (offline)

The Technical Administrator will be responsible for planning, building up, and protecting central infrastructure components to support malware analysis and forensic operations within a closed environment across multiple continents. The position will include systematic hardening of sensitive systems as well as careful monitoring of network flows and system access logs upon suspicious traces.

🔵Tasks / Responsibilities:
✔ Extend and maintain the technical infrastructure to support malware analysis and forensic operations across multiple continents.
✔ Harden and protect sensitive infrastructure components against unauthorized access and any kind of misuse.
✔ Develop and maintain suitable rules for network firewalls and intrusion detection systems to prevent attacks on the infrastructure over the network.
✔ Closely monitor network flows and system accesses upon suspicious traces

🔵Experience / Exposure (Recommended):
✔ Excellent knowledge of network architectures, especially with regards to distributed work environments.
✔ Experience with designing and building up closely-monitored lab or test environments is considered a significant plus.
✔ Excellent knowledge of relevant protocols across the different OSI layers.
✔ Excellent knowledge of Unix operating systems and derivatives, strong knowledge of system, hardening and system protection measures.
✔ Used to be working on the command line, capability of automating tasks with the help of (shell) scripting languages within a short amount of time.
✔ Intermediate in English is required for this position.

Education / Certification (Recommended):
✔ Familiarity with the different phases of the software development life cycle and higher-level languages is considered a plus.
✔ Master’s Degree, preferably with a focus on IT security and/or computer networks, from an accredited college, university, or equivalent.
