DevOps Engineer for Linux-based HPC solutions (offline)

PROJECT
Our client has a set of solutions for companies that use HPC solutions for Life Science and Medical research. Your main goal in this position is the development and support of the tools and applications the client has. The development will include writing scripts using different scripting languages such as Shell or Python, as well as integration of new opensource tools in the existing ecosystem. Another important part of your work is adopting these tools to run on Public Clouds such as AWS. In your work, you will be directly supervised by the VP of Services. The results of your work will be used by system administrators in the client’s company. TEAM
VP of Services, who is leading the development, a Senior DevOps Engineer, and Linux System Administrators/TechSupport engineers, who support client’s infrastructure.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of experience in Linux and Networking administration with skills in configuring, troubleshooting, logging, and auditing various Linux OSes on dedicated servers, in virtual environments and in the cloud
- Proficient in building and managing large maintainable toolsets that work across multiple environments (dedicated servers, virtual environment, cloud infrastructure, containers like Docker understanding)
- Expertise in automation and scripting using languages such as Shell or Python, and tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Good Experience with Git source code management
- Solid experience with setting up CI/CD processes using Jenkins/TeamCity
- Good understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) architecture and performance
- Experience with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix etc.)
- Ability to provide accurate and realistic effort estimates, commit and deliver accordingly
- Solid understanding of and experience with DNS, LDAP, NFS, Remote Access, performance analysis
- Solid understanding of firewalls, routers and networking protocols and designs (TCP/IP, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, NAT, VPC, subnetting etc.)
- Experience with working in an Agile methodology and using issue management system

WILL BE A PLUS
- Some years of experience with other development languages such a C, C++, Java is a big plus
- Understanding and experience working with AWS services and CloudFormation

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architecting and writing high reliable scalable scripting code
- Redesigning and optimisation of applications and scripts to improve service functionality and quality
- Designing and implementing automation to continuously improve our project and managed services efficiency in deployment and management
- Providing full SDLC support. Concept, design systems architecture, development, and Ops support
- Leading troubleshooting and performance tuning of applications running on large scale
- Supporting operational environments as well as enterprise support
