We are actively looking for Duty Unix/Linux System Administrator to join our client’s USA company, that is a 20-year-old web design and development agency № 1 in the World specializing in E-commerce for multi-channel companies.
Under direct and indirect supervision, the Duty System Administrator performs technical and non-technical administrative tasks to include the provisioning, management, configuration, and upgrade of new and existing computer systems; provisioning, assignment, and management of user accounts; asset inventory management; software license management; and other special projects as deemed necessary. Additionally, the Duty System Administrator works effectively with company management to document, coordinate, and execute standard activities and special projects while adhering to all company standards, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Essential Duties
• Actively monitor client environments using Nagios, New Relic, and other monitoring tools
• Provide ticket updates and communicate with clients through the support ticket system
• Perform server maintenance tasks during specified maintenance windows
• Troubleshoot and correct discrepancies with customer sites and applications
• Actively monitor and manage IT Helpdesk queue for internal IT support requests
• Coordinate closely with duty developers to implement code updates, patches, and fixes
• Install and configure software on Linux-based servers
• Generate outage and security incident reports for management review
• Maintain team continuity through daily support handover procedures
• Maintain and support deployment automation tools
• Working hours - according to the shift schedule: Two daily shifts from 9am to 9pm [1 day off] 2 night shifts from 9pm to 9am [3 days off]
Required Skills
• 2 - 3 years of related experience
• Linux, Apache httpd, NGINX, PHP-FPM, mySQL, and DNS management
• AWS EC2 and AWS S3 configuration and management
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to work effectively in stressful, time-sensitive situations
• Effective communicator with a positive attitude and the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employees at all levels in the organization
