Description of the roleReporting to the Test Manager, you will work within one of our sprint or Kanban teams automating our flagship application Dashworks.You will be responsible for automating new features and maintaining the automated tests you are responsible for in our automation framework which currently has approximately 4000 tests. You will be programming in C# using Visual Studio, Selenium WebDriver and Specflow (as a BDD tool). The tests will be run from AzureDevOps, with GitHub used for Source Control. You will have strong web-based and API test automation development experience, including experience in setting up and maintaining/refactoring test automation frameworks. You will be able to automate new and existing features through the UI or the API and be confident in deciding which test automation approach should be used. You should have experience in working on large automation frameworks and be able to troubleshoot and fix failed tests (where appropriate), quickly and efficiently. You should have experience in working in an agile development environment, using scrum and/or Enterprise IT Migration Made Easy Kanban and have a good knowledge of scrum principles and processes. You should also have strong communication skills and enjoy working and collaborating as part of a scrum team.
Typical daily duties
Attending and contributing to agile meetings
• Collaborating with the product owner, developers, and testers on new feature development
• Creating automation tests in Visual Studio using Selenium WebDriver and SpecFlow
• Managing your code using GitHub
• Maintaining a set of existing automation tests across 2 versions of the application
• Analysing test failures and reporting bugs or fixing tests as appropriate
• Raising and retesting bugs in JIRA
• Updating relevant tests in line with test data changes that are done monthly
Skills and experience required
• Web-based and API automation development using Selenium WebDriver
• Strong C# programming
• Specflow (or similar BDD tools)
• GitHub (or similar Source Control tools)
• Scrum, Kanban, or another agile approach
• Good level of spoken and written English
Job Location & Hours:
The role will be performed remotely.
We operate a 40-hour week and working hours are between 9am – 6pm UKtime.
You will be expected to provide and maintain your own equipment and internet connection to allow you o work from home and connect to our VPN i.e. PC, Skype, broadband and phone.
Once connected to our office there are servers and virtual machines available for you to use.
