Our client is an industry-leading global video app developer with an award-winning technology
framework. They support clients to develop and quickly and efficiently deploy apps on all
devices, screens and TV platforms. They create and deploy TV apps for every screen, from settop boxes, Smart TVs and media players to game consoles, tablets and mobile phones.


Project Details:

Our client is looking to expand their core engineering team, specifically to support Roku
development. If you ever developed for Roku you are one of the happy few who have
knowledge of BrightScript, the scripting language only used for Roku.

As a BrightScript Developer you will join our team of experienced developers and designers with whom you will create the most sophisticated and beautiful apps on Roku for our international clients. In addition to working on the various products and projects in our portfolio, you’ll also participate in and proactively suggest R&D projects when interesting new technology emerges which is relevant to the TV market.

What you will be doing:

● Writing clean and structured code that is compliant to the Roku domain standards
● Reviewing GIT pull/merge requests
● Joining SCRUM meetings: daily standup, sprint review and retrospective
● Learning new technologies and skills in the quickly evolving world of TV

What would make you perfect for the job:

● Good experience with the BrightScript scripting language
● Experience with full app release procedure
● Experience with the SceneGraph
● Experience with Roku environment, including the Roku Ad Framework, DeepLinking
and Billing program
● Experience with Jira, Confluence and Git
● Proficient in the English language

Even better if you have:

● Experience with integrating REST API's, XML, VAST and JSON
● Experience with analytics platforms like Google Analytics and with streaming videos,
video on demand and DRM.
