Senior DevOps Engineer (American Product) (offline) $5000-8000

About the role:
The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a broad range of operations engineering knowledge and is comfortable playing an impactful role in defining the team’s technical direction.
Ensure our systems are healthy, monitored, automated, fault tolerant and designed to scale. Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to continually improve our production services, facilitating fast delivery of new products, and reducing downtime.

Current SRE Technologies: Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, Terraform

Key Qualifications:
● 5+ years of industry experience
● Proficient in at least one of these languages: Python, Golang, Bash.
● Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
● Proficiency with an IaaS such as AWS or GCP.
● Strong experience with Infrastructure Automation tools, such as Terraform.
● Strong experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes and Docker).
● Familiarity with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Alert Manager, Datadog, New Relic One.
● Experience with algorithms and data structures.
● Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
● Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.
● Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
● Strong experience in debugging and troubleshooting during production issues.

● Assists in creating technical roadmap.
● Strives to be a technical educator with the ability to evangelize and promote engineering principles across the company.
● Proactively investigates alternatives in technology.

Responsibilities:
● Leads research and development on identified projects.
● Designs and implements solutions with high availability and scalability in mind.
● Participates in design discussions, proposes approaches, suggests alternative solutions and improvements.
● Performs regular audits on systems architecture in regards to scale and performance.
● Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning,
observability setup and tuning.
● Collaborate with engineering partners to drive operational health improvements, root cause analysis, postmortem discussions, and their associated remediations that serve to improve reliability and sub-linearly
scale operations.
● Partner with engineers to demonstrate tools, processes, and techniques to reduce business risk.
● Observability management (as code), research, planning and deployment of new monitoring solutions.
● Identify common patterns in challenges with operating services in production, partner with others to design and implement reusable solutions and/or other cross-functional work that drives down the complexity,
difficulty, costs, and risks of operating the business.
● Identify and contribute to solutions for reducing services outages, reducing alert noise, improving monitoring, and helping our services reach Service Level Objectives.
● Operational support scopes like tooling and automation, monitoring, workflow management, maintaining and improving CI/CD, monitoring, etc.
● Participate as part of an on-call rotation and responsible for responding to escalated alerts outside of business hours.
