Senior Backend Engineer (JAVA) (offline) $4500-6000

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop and maintain core functionalities of pricing system including its backend web development, machine learning integration and main business logics
- Lead technical architecture discussions for building and maintaining support large-scale, low-latency and high-availability microservices
- Document and demonstrate the solutions including documentation, schema design, flowcharts, diagrams
- Ensure the solutions provide values for business
- Work collaboratively with development team and data scientists to achieve goals
- Optimize system performance and identify bottlenecks
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge

Qualifications:

- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, EE, Mathematics or related majors
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience in building large-scale, low-latency and high-availability microservices
- Strong capability in coding with two of the following technologies: Python, Java, Node.js or Golang
- Strong data structure and algorithm design
- Strong OOP, Functional Programming and modeling skills
- Extensive experience in development using SQL, relational database (Postgres), and NoSQL (MongoDb) and Cache technologies (Redis, Memcached, etc.)
- Familiar with Agile development process and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience with building or maintaining Dynamic Pricing System
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with machine learning concepts and tools with good understanding of statistics
- Experience in transportation or logistics industries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

The team will be partnering with the BIDS team to develop and productize predictive and prescriptive models to optimize revenue, fleet utilization, demand models, supply models, dynamic pricing engine, and personalized pricing engine for the two sided marketplace and bring business insights in an easy to consume format to business stakeholders
