UI/UX Design Team Lead (offline) $3000-5000

How to realize that you are ready to be a Team Leader?
1. You’ve successfully supervised 1-2 designers.
2. You mentor or teach courses.
3. Quickly generate ideas, but want to delegate implementation.
4. Thinking about going into teaching or management.
5. Have a desire to create your own studio and „do things right”.
6. You run into a „glass ceiling” in your current company.
7. There is no way to experiment and explore.
8. You’re starting to lose faith in your design.
Our Team Leaders manage a design team of 5-7 people, and here are their personal qualities:
— Mentoring. The ability to select promising team members and nurture them by filling knowledge gaps and drawing up growth plans.
— Leadership. The ability to achieve your own and the client’s aims by meeting the goals of your team members.
— Goodwill. Whatever happens, you remain a reasonable person and maintain awareness in relationships with your colleagues.
— Proactivity. Ability to identify problems and find solutions, take responsibility not only for design but for the whole project.
The Team Leader helps the project to start and checks if its core ideas were implemented. There are skills which enable to manage this:
— Analytical mindset. Ability to realize the client’s business problem, offer the optimal solution and understand the principles of MVP formation.
— Conversational English. The B2/Upper-Intermediate level and good communication skills will be enough, but literate writing is a must.
— Technical savvy. You need to understand the technological cycle of creating digital products and the basic principles of their functioning.
— Communication skills. Ability to hear the Talker and convey your thoughts to Clients and the Team in a reasoned and convincing way.
Team Leaders are the Guardians of Design Quality, and they do it thanks to:
— Excellent experience in 5+ years. We follow Gladwell’s theory and believe that the path to Professionalism takes no less than ten thousand hours to go.
— Knowledge of standards. Experience in creating and using design systems; understanding the modern OS standards.
— Good Portfolio. Examples of projects with strong visual and logical concepts, victories in competitions and awards of any size.
— Experience of cooperation (will be a plus). Working with the development team and business analysts.
