The Founder
Growth Shop’s founder, Mark Patchett, brings a decade-plus of experience rapidly scaling businesses with globally distributed teams. Most recently he led growth for Nectar Sleep (Resident Home) in the USA, throughout that 2 year period the business grew from $10m RR to $300m (landing the #1 fastest growing consumer brand and 211 largest by revenue in the USA). Prior to that was Trouva.com as Marketing Director taking sales from a handful a day to be the top 5 fastest growing in Europe, before that was CRO for The BBC, The Economist, Channel 4, and prior to that he built ecom strategies for over 250 SMEs.

What you'll do
- Set the technical direction of our e-commerce sites, tools, and applications and make sure those decisions help us build stable, performant, and scalable solutions
- Manage our team of high performing engineering freelancers
- Help to build great processes around dev ops/continuous delivery and code quality
- Maintain SLAs so that our sites and applications maintain a high level of availability, they are secure and the highest quality is established
- Work closely with our conversions team to ensure conversion rates are ever-improving. Monitor these to spot technical issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Work tirelessly to reduce our page load speed across all sites through code best practice, back end infrastructure, and caching technologies
- Work with our data team to make sure that application & event data is available in a timely fashion to their data stores and connections
- Get your hands dirty with front-end, back-end, and dev ops code

Your experience:
1. 5-7 years+ experience building and managing engineering teams
2. You’re highly self-motivated, operational/process driven
3. Ability to handle and interrogate complex technical challenges and come up with workable solutions.
4. You love to build, lead and mentor engineers
5. You have extensive experience working with HTML/CSS, Php, MySql, DevOps and AWS
6. You have managed a scaled e-commerce platform - either Woocommerce, Shopify, or Magento
7. You’re an A+ executor but also think creatively
8. You self educate and invest in your own personal growth
9. You’re confident, express your opinions, but are completely open-minded, and care more about the right outcome than just pushing your opinion
10. You get that life shouldn’t be too serious
11. You can operate with multiple time zones. You’re not a 9-5 type
