Senior Java Software Engineer (offline)

WE ARE seeking a unique individual with deep experience and passion for cutting-edge, cloud-based serverless data technology. We seek a leader who can work with our business and help drive a cloud technology architecture in AWS that matches high ambitions.

This position provides leadership and direction to our newly formed cloud & data function that will help revolutionize the way the company leverages its platform in AWS with solid data structures in the cloud. We are looking to embrace serverless as a core principle and enable microservice development as well as the ability to enable learning (ML/DL/AI.)
Our client is based in Utah, USA. The product we are working on is a cloud-based document comparison and contract analysis tool. It has built on a unique combination of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies to identify and compare terms and concepts. The platform automates data digitization and extraction supports proprietary and open-source learning models and provides a pipeline to deliver AI-derived insights to the right systems for immediate action. We call it BusinessAI, and it allows our customers to take theoretical data science and apply it to real-time operations in the enterprise.

YOU ARE
• Strong Java Developer
• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, RDS, Route 53, Lambda, VPC, EKS, DynamoDB, Cognito, API Gateway, cloud solutions design)
• Experience with GraphQL and Amplify (or similar technologies)
• Understanding of RDBMS concepts, REST, Micro-services, Design Patterns, OOD;
• Aware of NoSQL databases principles
• Experienced in message brokers such as Apache Kafka, AWS SQS, or any other message brokers
• Aware of micro-services development, CI/CD, noOps
• Are intellectually curious about technology and passionate about learning new things.
• Are adept at rapidly creating prototypes and proofs-of-concept to validate new technologies.
• Experience with Terraform or Cloudformation would be a big plus
• Are skilled at diving into code to find and fix issues, add new features and improve performance.
• Work well and communicate well with others.
• Do well at understanding business needs and creating solutions to meet those needs.
• Are process-oriented and are comfortable following a Lean-Agile software methodology.
• Know how to build high-quality software and take ownership of your work.
• Are receptive to constructive criticism and willing to be critical of your own work and ideas - changing direction and fixing mistakes you make along the way.
• Familiar with testing web applications
• Knowledgeable of SQL or other databases
• Possessing good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Having a strong understanding of testing methodologies
• Showing a positive attitude to work
• Soft skills (as well as this position includes the process of closely working with client's side/developers, etc.

• Technical specifications and architecture vision document creation (together with Solutions Architect)
